Beschreibung
CSX 3129 was originally built by AC Cars in Thames Ditton - GB, on the 27th of May 1965, and specified in British Racing Green over a black interior.
On the 17th of September 1965 it was shipped to Shelby American in L.A (Invoice #A 95 $6,485.00 including freight) billed to Harr Motor Company of Worcester MA.
Its first private owner, John King (N.Y) traded his previous Cobra (CSX 2521) on the 427, finally taking delivery on the 11th of March 1966. By May of that year he had already covered 4500 miles with her, and decided to have the interior reupholstered in tan leather as he found the original black to be too hot.
In spring of 1969, she changed hands to Bob Wachtel (Brooklyn, N.Y) and was subsequently offered for sale again in 1970, asking $6,700.00 with a recorded 19'000 miles.
A year later she was once again available for sale, having covered an extra 9000 miles and including a black hardtop.
At this point Hexagon Motors of London, purchased and sold her to Roger Hart (London) who shortly afterwards crashed on the Kingston by-pass.
Following the accident, Hart sent the car back to A.C where he ordered them to rebuild CSX 3129. At this point the extra large rear haunches were fashioned to house the 7.5 front, and 9.5 rear Halibrands.
At the same time the car was converted to RHD and painted in Maroon, before being sold to its new owner, Rod Leach (Hertfordshire GB) who registered it under the now famous "COB 1" number plate.
In the mid 70's, CSX 3129 would end up in the hands of her most famous custodian, Led Zeppelin's drummer, John "Bonzo" Bonham.
By 1983 she was the property of Peter Maria Brunner (Switzerland) who had her refreshed.
Over the course of the next 4 years, P.M.B had her returned to LHD, gave her a fresh coat of Maroon paint, as well as a raft of modifications which included the bare aluminium dashboard and new special widened Sunburst alloys.
The car is offered with a Swiss veteran title, fresh service and MFK.
