Descrizione
1988 built Beck Spyder, chassis #119. It was built to a deluxe “kit” by Chuck and Randy Beck in 1988 and completed for the client by a Porsche specialist in Kentucky the same year.
Mechanically the car is in good condition. It has one worn tie rod end that I will replace, but other than that its solid in that regard.
The 356 1600 super motor runs well (#831950) and although it has a current oil leak, that is simply the drain pan which will get addressed when we do our basic service (oil change and valve adjustment).
The engine number is #831950 The engine number list from Stoddard Porsche shows this is a 1959 1600 Super 616/2. The engine appears to be all original except the carburetors were upgraded to larger Weber carbs (40 or 44mm Weber IDF)
Transaxle is a type 1 and shifts through all the gears smoothly, no issues. The shifter mechanism is the Jamar mid-ship unit that was commonly used on these cars in he 1980s.
