Listing guidelines

The insertion rules serve as a guide for the quality of your listings and the attractiveness of the platform. We want to support you in selling quickly. What may be visible in the vehicle image? How is the final price composed? What counts as a new vehicle? Please comply with the following insertion rules and the legal requirements (in particular the Federal Act against Unfair Competition, the Price Indication Ordinance, and the provisions on placement of the energy label). AutoScout24 reserves the right to delete listings, or parts thereof, that do not comply with these requirements.

All vehicles

Each vehicle may only be listed once at the same time.
The advertiser must actually have the offered vehicle available. Offered vehicles may not be vehicles that have been ordered or still need to be ordered.
Directly/parallel imported vehicles must be declared accordingly in the listing.
Listed vehicles must be available for viewing, test drives, and delivery within one week.
The location of the offered vehicle and of the provider must be in Switzerland/FL.
Wanted listings are not permitted in the vehicle market.
The vehicle information published in the listing must be truthful.
The vehicle fields specified by AutoScout24 may only be used for their intended purpose. In particular, the “Version” field may not contain comments such as discounts, leasing, etc. The field may only contain model, version incl. special series, technical information about the engine and displacement, and, for electric vehicles, an indication of whether the battery is included or rented.
“From MFK” (motor vehicle inspection) applies if the last inspection is still valid for 12 months or will be carried out before delivery.
One vehicle may be entered per listing, i.e. the make and model cannot be changed afterwards.

Additional mandatory information for passenger cars with less than 2’000 km mileage

Applies to all vehicles, meaning alternative fuel types such as hydrogen, hybrid, electric, etc. are included.

Price

The amount entered in the “Price” field must correspond to the total price actually owed. It includes in particular value added tax and all mandatory fees. The entry of leasing rates or rental prices in the “Price” field is not permitted.

All price and condition information must be correct and complete. In particular, the requirements of the Price Indication Ordinance (PBV), the Federal Act against Unfair Competition (UWG), and the relevant provisions on consumer credit and leasing apply.

Delivery flat rate

The delivery flat rate must be included in the price if the buyer cannot waive it.

Inspection report

The inspection report stamped by a Swiss road traffic office is required and is included in the price.

Battery for electric vehicles

If the battery is part of the purchase, the total price of electric vehicles must be stated including the battery. If the battery is rented, the advertiser must declare this separately in the field provided for this purpose.

Fleet discount

We recommend listing the fleet discount/price in the additional title or in detail in the remarks.

Vehicle images

AutoScout24 recommends illustrating the listing with images. These significantly increase attention. Images, videos, and PDFs must show the vehicle actually listed. Only original images are permitted. The vehicle must not be covered and must always be in the foreground. The photos must not be misleading and must reflect the actual condition of the vehicle. Image editing is not permitted. Only the use of a virtual background wall to optimize image quality is accepted.

The following provisions apply:

The wall must be neutral and must not distract from the vehicle in any way (no bright colors or busy patterns).
A discreet inscription (company name only) and/or the brand logo of the listed vehicle may be placed on the wall (provided authorization exists), provided the spatial proportions are shown realistically. In other words: logos must always be in the background and visually located on the wall. In addition, these elements may occupy 1/8 of the background. Further content (text/logo) is not permitted.
Photos used in listings must not show addresses (email address or postal address), phone numbers, or license plates. All recognizable faces must be made unrecognizable (pixelated).

Note: The virtual background wall replaces the entire background of the vehicle. Additional elements from the original image that do not show the vehicle are not permitted. The advertiser is responsible for ensuring that they are entitled to unrestricted use of the images and videos used and that no third-party rights (in particular copyrights) are infringed.

New vehicles / day registrations / demonstration vehicles

New vehicles

Vehicles may be declared as new if they have a mileage of max. 1’000 kilometers and/or are max. 1 year old (from the date of manufacture).

Day registration

Vehicles may be declared as day registrations if they have a maximum of 1’000 kilometers and/or are maximum 1 year old from the registration date and have already been registered for a short time and deregistered again. The factory warranty period may already have started as a result. The start date and duration of the factory warranty must be stated in the listing or communicated to the provider.

Vehicles that were registered exclusively for a day registration and then deregistered again and have never been registered to an end customer must be declared as day registrations. They are managed as a subcategory of new vehicles, provided the criteria for new vehicles are met (max. 1’000 km and/or max. 1 year from the date of manufacture). If the factory warranty has already started with the day registration, this must be transparently disclosed in the listing.

Demonstration vehicles

Demonstration vehicles are registered vehicles that have a mileage of max. 15’000 kilometers and have been registered for max. 1 year.

Publication address

A legally valid address strengthens trust in you. Make sure that the published address is correct.

Location / availability

Reserved vehicles (e.g. financing still under clarification / leasing application pending) must be set to inactive, as the listed vehicle must be available for viewing, test drives, and delivery within one week. Vehicles that have not yet arrived at the garage may not be listed.

Accident-free, accident vehicle

Accident-free = a vehicle is considered “accident-free” if it has not previously suffered accident damage or has only suffered minor damage*.

Accident vehicle = if the extent of minor damage* is exceeded, it is considered an accident vehicle.

*Minor damage = external damage (visual impairment), does not affect load-bearing or safety-relevant parts of the vehicle (e.g. chassis, frame, load-bearing structure, airbag, etc.)

Accident vehicle = a vehicle offered with significant damage.

Truthful information

For classic cars

If correct information on the kilometers driven is not possible, a value such as “9’999’999 kilometers” may be entered. The condition must be described as precisely as possible in the remarks, together with an explanation of why the mileage cannot be stated.

For the designation “from MFK”

The last MFK may not be more than one year ago or must be carried out at the seller’s expense before delivery.

For the number of kilometers stated

Always refers to the total mileage of the chassis. If a new engine has been installed, this has no effect on the number of kilometers.

For the first registration

The information must be truthful. For new vehicles, the current month must always be stated. Entering a date in the future is not permitted.

Address and contact information

Value-added numbers, 0900 numbers, and foreign numbers are not permitted, except those from the Principality of Liechtenstein. The indication of at least one phone number, email address, postal code, and town in the listing is mandatory.

Spare parts and accessories

The listing of spare parts and accessories (e.g. rims, exhausts, tires, etc.) is not permitted.

Deletion and republication of existing listings

It is not permitted to delete existing listings and immediately publish them again.

Changes

AutoScout24 reserves the right to make changes to these insertion rules at any time.
